Mo, I think you're the first friend I have who plays oboe. XD That's pretty cool. ((PrettY much everyone in our band think it sounds like a dying something, no offense. >.>;;  ) Psh. Maybe they've just never heard it played right XD No, it does sound weird, but there is a very good reason that I play it. Rarer instrument + played well = greater chance for scholarship XD |

Yeah, that's what my violin teacher tells me. She told me to learn viola, too, since there's already too many violinists. xD

Oh yeah, the violin is the other instrument I really want to learn. Violin and Trumpet. They're just so cool (may have something to do with Panic at the Disco using them, I don't know XD).

xD I have a friend who used to play the trumpet, then she quit because she was the only girl trumpeter in the band.

My friend is the only guy Clarinetist in the band XD
You know what sucks though? Except for guitar and bass in the Jazz band, we don't have/can't play string instruments in any of our bands.

No, we don't. Just two normal bands and two jazz bands.
The Jazz bands are pretty sweet though.

We have one orchestra, one band, and one jazz band. :3 Yeah, jazz bands are pretty awesome That sucks you guys don't have an orchestra, though. And since you have 4 bands altogether your school must be pretty big. Weird that you wouldn't have an orchestra. |

Eh? My school has a lot of male clarinetists and..well, clarinetists in general. I also have like 10 friends who play oboe, although only like 3 of them are good at it. >_>
@moses: That is weird, that you don't have an orchestra, my school has a 2 concert bands and 1 jazz ensemble, but we also have an orchestra.

Well, I don't know what classifies as big. Nor do I know how many people are at my school XD But you have to be in one of the two normal bands to be in one of the Jazz bands (excepting Guitar and bass, where they have to be in the guitar class or one of the normal bands). So it's really like two bands with some extra for kids who want to play Jazz XD
I think this is the first year they've had two Jazz bands cause we have so many band people. But I may be wrong XD

Well, my school is just like a little over 1000 people, and we have an orchestra. xD And our orchestra probably has about 10 people in it.
Seriously. Most of us quit. >.>

Oh, wow. All of our bands have like.... I don't know like 30 or something people in them. With at least two people on everything except Oboe, Bass Clarinet, and Euphoneum (Don't think I spelled that right XD)

Only 1 oboe? That's odd, I know Oboe's aren't that common, but I guess my school just happens to have more for some reason. More Oboe's than Bassoon's though? Or is there just nobody who plays Bassoon?

Well, it would have been two oboes but the other one switched to Bassoon.
And my town isn't really that big.
