My mom's going to teach Chinese classes during the night at the tech college she already works at. She sucks at English so she wants me to type all her stuff for her while she pays me minimum wage ($7.25 here in WI). She usually doesn't pay me so she must really be desperate for my cooperation this time.
I guess this will be my first "job"? And she claims that she'll let me spend my own money (though I doubt this, I'm still trying to be optimistic) and the first thing I want is a current-gen system other than my Wii. I already have like 300 bucks from my weekly $5 "allowance" from my dad. >.>;;
I think I might go for the PS3, but I sort of want the 360, too. The 360 is cheaper and has Vesperia, but I want to play Eternal Sonata a lot more than I want to play Vesperia. Eternal Sonata's PS3 port is way better than the 360 version (just like Vesperia, what is it with developers and making every PS3 port better than the 360 original) so I'm leaning more towards the PS3...
Plus I can play Final Fantasy XIII and Versus once they come out. Part of me does still want to play Vesperia, though, since it is the only Tales I haven't played yet.
I dunno. Is the PS3 region locked? I don't know anything about the PS3 other than I need to get the fat one so that I can still play my PS2 games. If it isn't, I could just get PS3 Vesperia once I move out and can import games by myself. I have a feeling it is, though...
tldr; I might be getting a PS3 sometime soon unless someone convinces me the 360 is a better choice, give me some insight. ;3;

The PS3 Sonata is better? Eternal Sonata, like Vesperia, is made by Namco... I smell some money being shoved under the table.
PS3 is region locked.

If it's not region locked then it's not even a question of what I should get, then. \o/
I'm sorry, Mo. ;3; We won't be able to party it up.

If you wanna get the "fat" one you'll probably have to get it used cause I don't believe any of the current PS3s being manufactured are backwards compatible. If it's not region locked then you can play Vesperia anyways. Plus, I did a little homework and discovered- Tales of Vesperia was ported to the PlayStation 3 and released on September 17, 2009 with additional content as well as a different logo. As of January 27th, 2010 Namco Bandai Games said it has currently 'no plans' to release this port outside of Japan, however it should be noted that Namco Bandai had said the same about Eternal Sonata for the PS3 only to be released months later. The Tales of Vesperia PS3 demo was released July 13, 2009 in the Japan PSN store. So you know, keep that optimistic spirit up. Though the Symphonia PS2 port never came over here, which still upsets me to this day.

I'm going to steal my friend's PS3 and her PS3 ToV if the PS3 ToV doesn't come out in a year. I need to learn Japanese though, otherwise I'll still be totally confused over Patty. ;

Patty reminds me of Chat from ToE, which isn't a good thing. ;3; I don't think any of the recent Tales games are going to come out here, Vesperia PS3 or Graces... VS never had a chance in the first place. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=959197&topic=53337538I feel bad for the people who got laid off. :< Bamco should seriously just sell the Tales series to Atlus or XSeed. Then we wouldn't miss out on so many mothership titles.

Oh, and P, if you want to get PS3 Vesperia, you should probably get to that sooner rather than later. It'll be a hard find, and if you do find it, it'll probably be really overpriced.

I'll have to wait for at least 2 more years before I can get ToV. I can't order things online, remember? My mom's paranoid about her identity being stolen. ;3;
I need to get the PS3 first, and Gamestop doesn't have any 20GB used PS3s for me to get unless I order them online. orz
