My FSTs I make all are seeing the same artists filling them. I need some new ones. 8U;; I know plenty of male bands that I can check out, but not enough female ones. (My J-pop on the other hand is like 50/50 but anyways. >.>; If anyone knows some female good artists, feel free to tell me. Some that I already listen to are Flyleaf, Evanescence, and Paramore on more of the rocky-er side, but I also like softer ones like Vanessa Carlton and Colbie Caillat. I've been told to check out Meg & Dia and New Years Day, so if anyone listens to those and wants to tell me they're good... 8U

I think they're ok. oh, and this Lesley Roy girl is starting to hit it big. I've liked her for a while. her voice sounds really raspy but in an awesome way. then there's a not-so well known band that I've been a fan of for some time now called Damone. They were once on G4's Attack of the Show! back in like 2006, and I've liked them ever since (CHECK OUT MA SICK RHYMIN SKILLZ IN THAT SENTENCE... six and since rhyme, right?) maybe they're a bit more known now than back then, but I've never seen them on MTV or anything like that (that is, on the MTV channels that show music)

I'm a particular fan of soft rock, and I do like Vanessa Carlton. If you like her, I would recommend Rachel Sage or Vienna Teng. Nina Gordon's pretty good too, though I have to admit that I haven't heard very many of her songs; those that I have heard too are great. Oh, and I've always and forever been a Michelle Branch supporter just because she's amazing. Sheryl Crow's music is decent as well... and oh! I like Saving Jane... her music tends to vary a bit from soft rock to things that have more of a beat.

Okay, writing these all down in a notepad. Thanks so much you guys! And Zelos, your rhyming is amazing. And Ari, I like Michelle Branch, too. =D <3

I know this is an old thread but.... I'll still like to put in my input if that's okay. If you like Evanescence you'll like Within Temptation. They're a Swedish band (they sing in English) and have a very similar feel, although I think the singer of WT is better than Amy and their songs are a bit more varied than Evanescence. For something a bit different look up SJ Tucker. She's an independent singer/songwriter, I consider her a bard in the true sense. Describing her music is a bit difficult but I guess I can take a line describing one of her group albums as gypsy celtic folk rock(when she travels she does solo shows and also in certain areas she's in a band). But even that is a poor description as she basically writes what comes to her and she has some very powerful songs. Also some very silly songs about Salads of Doom, Alligators in Houses, and what happens if Wendy decided to be part of Hook's pirate crew XD. music.skinnywhitechick.com/ is a place you can listen to her songs for free. And although I know you're looking for more female bands than male I do have a male group recommendation, Poets of the Fall. They're a Finnish independent band (and like WT they sing in English XD) and their songs are really really cool. edits: wow I'm sorry two of those suggestions I also mentioned in a thread I started a long time ago about fav groups (WT and Poets). Sorry 'bout that. >_<U
