A character I began to develope in the depths of my mind, she has no name yet but she'll definitely pop into a story of mine at some point.
She is the daughter of a very wealthy nobleman. However, she was born with empty eyesockets and so her father is very protective of the girl. She desires to be free of the overprotective grasp of her father and stand on her own two feet, because if this she desires to learn the art of swordfighting. Her father denies her request for swords lessons. And so she resolves to learn on her own and begins sword practice herself using an old katana that her grandfather gave her in secret.
On her seventeeth birthday her father hires a bodyguard so that the girl may safely leave the walls of her palace. She convinces her bodyguard to teach her the way of the sword after he walks in on her while she is training with a sword. Using her other four senses, which were all heightened due to her lack of sight for her entire life, she becomes one of the best swordswoman of her time.
Her father discovers the secret lessons and fires the bodyguard for "Endangering my daughter!" However the girl leaves the palace and follows him as he travels the country.
While living under her father she would wear a white blindfold in the company of those outside the family. She reveals her secret to her bodyguard when he teachers her how to fight, and she eventually abandons the blindfold entirely when she leaves the palace.
But that would be just her story. What I'm thinking in my mind is a romance with lots of action and bad guys
