So, most of the members here have played this, and I'm surprised there isn't a topic about it yet. So here it is. Discuss this amazingly amazing game. I recently started a new file actually(I'll finish this one! I promise!), and I have a slightly spoilerish question. Near the end of the game, when you have to choose between Drachma, Gilder, and Enrique, is there one that is more effective than the others against Ramirez? Thank you!

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS GAME. okay, sorry, this is my favorite game. Ever. I love the graphics..I'm not sure why. Everything is just so...bold? and colorful? I'm not sure what it is. Plus the characters are amazing. The story is the best I've ever seen in a game. My one slight complaint is the ship battles get a little stale. That hasn't stopped me from playing through it like 8 times though. >.< Anyway. It really depends on what your strategy is. It's do-able with any of the 3. I always go with Gilder just cause he's my favorite of the three. But anyway, lets do a rundown here.
Drachma - Your power guy alongside Vyse. But normal attacks don't do all that much towards the final boss anyway. So his special moves - his most powerful just doesn't compare to Pirate's Wrath. Focusing can go a lot quicker though with his Spirit Charge, although it doesn't really offer anything defense wise.
Enrique - Your middle of the road guy. He's like..all average. His saving grace is his Justice Shield, which cuts all damage in half, which is nifty for when the boss does special moves and Skull Shield from Vyse won't block it.
Gilder - woot! I'm totally Gilder biased. But really, he is good for the final boss cause he can instant kill, but oh wait! Gilder has Aura of Denial, meaning instant death attacks are nullified! (For whatever reason, yes they do decide to count instant death as a status like poison or whatever).
I mean really, definitely possible with any three. Here's my favorite strategy though on any boss:
Vyse - Skull Shield Aika - Delta Shield Fina - Do Lunar Blessing (the regeneration one..I think thast what its called), otherwise just have her focus. If you feel a big attack from the boss is coming, have her defend. If things aren't going well, do Lunar Light to feel epic and kick ass. Gilder - Aura of Denial. No status effects baby.
Then once I got enough spirit points, I would either unleash Pirate's Wrath after increming Vyse, or save up big time and do the all together move Prophecy. But like I said, theres tons of different ways to do it.

Oh my, yes. I agree with the majority of what you said. Yeah, I was thinking of going with Gilder due to how insanely awesome he is. Thanks Jukka.

Awesome game ^_^ Loved the story, loved the characters. >_> <_< >_> I don't like Gilder, from a playing aspect. And even though he was a cool character I liked others better.
Personally I always used Enrique... mostly to spam Justice Shield. Especially since some of Ramirez's moves would kill either Aika or Fina completely due to damage alone without it. First time playing through I didn't know how awesome the Delta shield really was. I was under the impression "Well that means you can't cast magic either". But then in my later playthroughs I realized I barely used magic and used crystals when I could. Most of the time what I did for bosses in general: Aika- Delta Shield if I knew they did magic, otherwise Focus Fina- Focus, Lunar Blessing once I had enough SP, Lunar Cleansing when I had to deal with status effects that I did not want to deal with Vyse- Focus and Special moves Third- really depended upon who I had and who I was fighting. Mostly they Focused, sometimes I would through in an attack if I felt it was a good idea. Enrique a little different though as I tended to spam his Justice Shield for normal battles... Aika is a freakn' goddess... especially with her all enemies attacks.

Shiori, the same thing happened with me when I first played through. I did not think Delta Shield was as amazing as it really is. But on my recent playthroughs I've been having Fina attack a lot with magic just to change up battle strategy, its kinda fun. Yeah, Justice Shield is good..but I dunno. Everything else about Enrique is like...all average. -_- Well, IMO of course. Thats so true. I always get Lambda Burst before the Rixis place in Ixa Taka cause it takes care of like..every random battle.

Daikoku(sp?) is an evil little man. I just can't take him down, even though I've taken care of every other bounty in the game.

Oh man. Yeah that ones annoying. XD I think I still just used my same boss battle strategy. Although I suppose you could use Enrique for Justice Shield. *cringe* I know, it hurts.

There, I beat the game. And I must say, there should be a way to put Fina and Cupil in their pirate costumes sometime in the actual game.

By the way Ari, I just played the beginning of Skies, and if you head straight north from Pirate Isle you will see Shrine Island to your left (meaning yes, you have to take a slight left turn). But you still see it by going straight North. HAH
