Wow, I totally neglected a question mark. *smacks self* I've never played brass either. My friends have offered to let my try their instruments but I can't get over the fact that they drool all over them.  XD |

XD XD, the brass players do that, they just wipe off the mouth-piece (its kinda hard for a woodwind player to do that XD). But the first time one of my friends let me try their trumpet, I couldn't even make it work XD |

XD I never understood how trumpets worked... I mean, don't they have three buttons? And some sort of thing you pull?

My friend plays the trumpet. ;O You have to like change the pitch that you're blowing into the mouthpiece or something.

It's easier than it sounds though. Like..you can change the pitch of it quite easily while pressing different fingerings. I just don't know what notes I'm hitting cause I don't play trumpet XD

It is easier that it sounds until you get higher up. All you really do is tighten your lips to get higher and loosen them to get lower. You wouldn't think it would work and hit the right notes but it does.
Like i've only had it for 2 weeks and I can play.... 5 (almost 6) different notes with the open fingering.
I can almost do that. (it's all open, right?) XD and it's the high note that gives me trouble.

You use your lips for pitches?! That makes me laugh. XD yeah, but it's what you do. You use your lips and the different fingerings to hit all the notes. Like in Taps, you don't press any buttons or move anything, it's all your lips. |
