Karate's not as cool as Taekwondo. XD ^Agreed, not nearly as cool. At international day this year, Korea did this huge elaborate Tae kwon do demo skit. And Japan just had 2 guys doing random forms to the beat of a drum. I noticed that most people become black belts by sophomore year.  |

No, here. I just noticed lot of sophomores doing TKD are trying to qualify for black belt this year.

It really depends on the sort of Taekwondo... some dojangs are run for pure business and those usually hand out belts pretty easily. I take Taekwondo as a PE elective at school, and because my teacher doesn't rely on the students themselves for fees and payments, he doesn't feel the need to promote us if we don't deserve our rank.

Wow, your school offers TKD class? Yeah, my friend was telling me about that- although he also started TKD when he was like 3...now that I think about it..I didn't start much later. >_> |

Since I'm going to the UA and coming back home occasionally, I'll still be really close to my highschool so I'll definitely be calling all of my TKD friends and returning to train. ^-^ If not, I'll just get fat.
