These are very general rules. If you look at each forum, there may be more regulations specific to that forum.
1. Remain respectful and avoid conversations which may lead to arguments. We all have our own opinions and ideas. This is a good thing-- I encourage everyone to develop his/her own ideas about the world and all events which take place. Try to keep the controversial topics to a minimum, however, since we don't want the entire forum breaking out into a war.
2. Remember: PG-13. Keep the profanity down. I can understand cussing every once in a while in certain circumstances... but members may NOT direct their profanity at another member. There are other ways to express anger. Also, I do NOT want to see any references (links, pictures, etc.) to sex or porn. There are members who don't wish to see such things.
3. Spam and die. I will not tolerate any pointless posts. Please, only post if you have something to add to the topic of discussion. I realize that friends will have funny and refreshing conversations, which is perfectly fine, but if there is a serious discussion going on, saying something like "ok" or "I agree" really doesn't reflect intelligent thinking. General rule: feel free to chat with the other members, but don't make any pointless posts!
4. Do not harass or be rude toward the staff members. Address them politely when a problem occurs. Seriously, some people don't know how to be polite-- it eludes them for a demented reason I can't comprehend. Staff members will be chosen with much thinking and consideration so they can be trusted by fellow members. Treat them with respect.
5. Theft of any kind is prohibited. We take plagiarism very seriously here and for anyone who has had his/her work stolen, we all know that it is frustrating and stressful. Art, writing, etc theft will not be tolerated and will result in immediate punishment if proof can be given.
6. Have some common decency. Don't double post, don't bump any old topics, don't spam another person' thread, etc. This is all very obvious stuff, really. Don't harass people, don't steal their work, don't purposefully annoy them, etc. Please, just don't do it. Don't be a sore loser, don't cheat, don't become boastful even if occasion calls, etc. Basically, if you're contemplating the decency of an action, it's probably not appropriate.
7. Chatspeak, 1337 and any other forum language are not permitted. Try your personal best to avoid using such things, since they will most definitely annoy me and possibly some other members. Use correct English, please. I will not hammer down on this rule for some minor, natural grammatical errors but anyone who purposefully avoids grammar will be confronted.
*Punishments may result in warnings, revoked privileges, bans and even other devices if necessary. Please do not break these rules!
Thank you.
