I played the Japanese version a few months ago with some friends. What we did play was pretty easy (it involved pretty much all 4 of us running upwards as fast as possible so as not to get left behind and not be able to fight anything). It was fun, but I didn't really like that you couldn't level up the Pokemon you were using so it wasn't much of an RPG - you could only switch to the newer Pokemon you found. Also I believe each Pokemon only has 2 moves, 1 for A and 1 for B.
