Response to a prompt:
"Aye, Naktus!" Tarune's cheery voice rang out among the crowd, calling for the other Dwarf. He didn't know the other too well but there was a time for everything, he decided. Now wouldn't hurt to get to know another fellow Dwarf better. "So how have you been doing, my friend?" Tarune knew that Naktus was quite a good craftsman. There was no doubt in his mind that he had been locked away in his room, possibly shaping a new weapon for a customer or himself. Tarune stroked his beard thoroughly wondering what he was going to do with his life from now on. He could continue to be a warrior-- he served Trauss well, after all and his service was appreciated. Perhaps that was all there was available for him to do.
With a sip of his malt beer, he wiped the foam away from his facial hair, chuckling joyously. "Ah, the Dwarven celebrations. Really makes you excited, eh?" He was in a good mood. Most of the time, he wouldn't even bother talking with others. Tonight, he was feeling much more sociable. Maybe he had one too many beers. With a well-natured yawn, he continued with his small speech, wondering who else he knew and liked would walk in through the door to enjoy the festivities. "Aye, when I was a lad," he began. "We had such parties less than often. There was much work to do and less time to do it with." There wasn't really a point in Tarune lecturing Naktus, for they were both on the older side but that was what elders did. They lectured-- and they enjoyed it.
Tarune had quite a few experiences to share and even more stories to tell, although he was also usually reluctant to share any of them. He shuffled his thoughts around some more before setting the beer down on a table. Deciding that it was easier to take things day by day than lifetime by lifetime, he yawned again. "You know, I never learned to dance," he said with a tinge of amazement in his voice. He didn't feel bitter about it, not even sad. It just seemed to awkward that he had never taken the time out of his life to learn such a thing. Everyone else knew how and he simply didn't. He had never really fancied girls to be honest... or maybe he did but he just never admitted it to himself? That was quite possible too. After all, Tarune wasn't the type to believe in miracles.
