Well I'm not too far into it but I'm very impressed with the graphics. Pretty detailed for a Tales game. Also Yuri has to be one of the coolest Tales main characters ever.
Why isn't Flynn playable? D:

Repede, Karol and Rita prove to be pretty likable characters too.
Estelle is pretty annoying though. She's like a female version of a Luke who can't fight. D:

Now Raven is my favorite character.
Also, is it just me or does the second boss battle music sound exactly like the Golden Sun battle music?

Just wanted to pop in and say that Fury Sparks is the owningest battle theme ever. Even better than Everlasting Fight from Abyss and Leon - Fate of a Fencer from Destiny Directors Cut.

Because I started playing Vesperia again some time after Christmas. Karol and Estelle became less annoying, although Estelle is still very low in my book.

Symphonia 1 and 2, Legendia, Abyss, Vesperia, and... Phantasia? I have Tales of Destiny for PS1, not Phantasia, but you were spot on otherwise.
Vesperia came in the mail today, and with only 5 days until school starts again, I wonder how far I'll be able to get...
So now I'm pretty sure I only need Destiny 2, Phantasia and Radiant Mythology to get all the US-released Tales games.
Destiny and Destiny 2 are expensive as hell and hard to find, and I was very lucky to find the first one.

The original Destiny isn't very good. I was playing it and couldn't get past the fifth town because of the clunky battle system. It is really old, though, so you can't really blame it. Destiny Remake, though, is so awesome...

Destiny 2 technically didn't come out in the US, it's Eternia that did under the name of Destiny II. Destiny 2 is the real sequel to Destiny with Stan and Rutee's son as the main character. Eternia's PSP release would probably be cheaper to find than the PSX version, but didn't come out in the US. It was localized in Europe, though, so you could import it. Even though it's a "PSP remake", the graphics and battle system are exactly like the PSX original. >.>

So yeah I played for 6 hours straight today, and I'm at the part where you just leave the magistrate of the port town's house and chase the dragon rider guy. I think I'm under leveled (level 17) because everything seems a bit difficult (im on normal difficulty), but I don't really care because I hate level grinding with a passion.
Well, probably 4 more hours of Vesperia tonight before I go to bed (and yes, it will be 4am when I do).
Initial game impressions:
- Yuri is the best protagonist hands down of the Tales games I've played, as far as personality goes.
- Estelle is basically a definition dumb blond, and an annoying voice to go with it. Only Colette is a worse female protagonist in the Tales series.
- Graphics in 720p are AWESOME. Abyss looks like crap compared to Vesperia.
- Music is good as usual.
- Flynn kind of looks like Guy
- One of Flynn's lackies sounds EXACTLY like Genis
- Additionally, there were random typos in some of the dialogue, kind of minor but pretty unprofessional
I had some other thoughts but I don't remember them at the moment. Overall, Vesperia will be my life for a while.
