So I've been behind watching this every week since summer started. Now I'm catching up and I'm on episode... 23? 24? The one where Winry almost shoots Scar but Edward's like DON'T SHOOT and then jumps in front of her and my favorite scene from the manga is finally animated and wajklajgklahsd;lkajg. (Also I noticed that when Winry's staying in Central in the hotel, she's in room 503. I was geeking out, I finally found out the secret to those stupid numbers for pairings now; I thought it was only Reborn that had them gjkaslfhadg-) They've been going through the new material really fast and I don't know if they'll be able to last until episode 50/51/however many Brotherhood's gonna have. But if anyone has been up to date with the manga on chapter 102, please rant with me about what happened. Roy opened the gate and now he's blind? I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING. I ADMIT THAT I LAUGHED BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE ROY. But still, holy crap.
Also, can I not count or something because I only see 4 sacrifices so far: Edward, Alphonse, Roy, and Izumi? Who is number 5? Is it Mei? I didn't think she counted. :<
HOLY CRAP ROY IS BLIND HOLY CRAP WTF HOLY CRAP
edit: hahaha I forgot we had a spoiler tag OTL

Resurrection So I'm watching Brotherhood and the original series at the same time (almost done with Brotherhood since I've been seeing it on Adult Swim, a bit more than halfway through the original) to nerdily compare everything. I personally like the original a tiny bit better. It just seems darker and crazier. I love both, though. Greed is cooler in Brotherhood, though. Though I still get sad about the end of Conqueror of Shamballa cause (donno if there's a need for a spoiler tag at this point but I will just in case) Winry gets screwed over the entire series and then she has to live her whole life without Ed and Al? That's just cruel. I said "though" a lot in this post. Oh well.

Hey I just rewatched brotherhood a month ago myself! /knucks I had somehow forgotten how good this series is. I prefer brotherhood over the original, myself, since I love the manga's storyline to death. (ah I love Ran Fan and Ling too (oh and Olivier she's a badass)) Just two years passing can really change someone's opinion on something, because I've found that I'm a fan of Roy now when I used to hate him before... somehow... I also used to hate Hohenheim, but now I like him too... I think I was just a hateful person two years ago. NOT THAT I'M NOT A HATEFUL PERSON RIGHT NOW TOO GRRRRRR spoilers for the last ep? whenever I'm feeling down I just watch the proposal and then feel all warm and fuzzy inside and forget that I was ever feeling sad to begin with

Oh man FMA is a perfect example of how to do anime right. Genius. Brotherhood is fantastic, too. I love both almost equally. I just like all the crazy deaths and cliffhangers of the original series. Why wouldn't you life Roy? He's always been one of my favorites. Though anyone who can make fire with a snap is pretty okay in my book. Hohenheim is pretty cool, too, though he's pretty different depending on which series we're talking about. Most of the others have way more similarities when comparing the two.

I haven't read/seen the original full metal alchemist in so long! I might just pull that off my shelf before I read/see Brotherhood.

I haven't read/seen the original full metal alchemist in so long! I might just pull that off my shelf before I read/see Brotherhood. Well, Brotherhood is really just the anime adaptation of the manga, so really if you read the original you're reading Brotherhood. The original anime isn't like the manga.
