Yeah, she is compared to other Lords of FE games. But pff, you don't need anybody else besides Edward and Leo =D

Micaiah is actually my MVP for like 8 of the 11 chapters in part 1, because I always had Nolan/Edward/Leonardo weaken an enemy and let Micaiah give the killing blow.
Edward and Aran did shine as MVPs though.
My Aran ate everything that attacked him.

I didn't really use Aran..not to say he was bad, I just didn't like how he looked >.<

I don't use appearance as a criterion for units I use, except Meg. But in my defense, her stats are crap as well.

At least you admit to it. I can't say I do the same. I just pick units who are promising and drop them whenever they fail on me.
